ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael T Brown, Senior, is a native of Maryland. He received his early education in Anne Arundel County Schools. Right out of high school in 1973, Michael joined the United States Marines and served in a special unit called Ready Marine during the Vietnam War from 1973 to 1975.
After the US Marines, in 1979, he received an associate degree in law enforcement and industrial security from Arundel County Community College. Michael T Brown received his BS degree in criminal justice from the University of Baltimore in 1982.
In 1995, he furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in Criminal Control, Delinquency, and Prevention from Coppin State University. Michael served as a correctional officer from 1980 to 1985 and also served as a probation and parole agent from 1985 to 1996.
From 1996 to 2010, he taught criminal justice at Morgan State University, and from 2008 to 2010, he taught criminal justice at Anne Arundel County Community College. Michael is particularly proud of serving as a Child Protective Services Investigator for Anne Arundel County from 1996 to 2000.
From 2009 to 2013, Michael served in the Department of Juvenile Service Education unit, Budget and Planning, and Policy Development, where he retired.
Michael T Brown, Senior, became a Certified Firearm Instructor, certified in Maryland, Utah, and Florida. Michael is also a graduate of the Training Point of the Civilian Federal Police Academy. Michael is a volunteer Constituent Director of Senator C Anthony Muse of the 26th District legislative District from 1994 to the current day. Michael T Brown also achieved his certification as a Rescue Scuba Diver.
Michael is currently a long-term substitute teacher in Baltimore County Schools.
